Date: 28 February 2019 (Thursday)
Time: 8:00AM to 6:00PM
Venue: Methodist College Kuala Lumpur, in front of MM Hall, Off Jalan Tun Sambanthan 4, Kuala Lumpur, 50470 Brickfields, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur.
2nd runner-up: RM100
At 2 points along the route, participants will get to receive a different coloured wristband. This will also act as ‘checkpoints’ along the route. After the finishing line, there will be an optional game station (He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother)
Game: Participants will play the game in pairs. One participant is blindfolded while the other participant will piggyback the blindfolded participant (gender specific pairs)
Goal: Teams are required to pass through a ‘minesweeper’ like maze without stepping on landmines. (This will be marked using different coloured floor pads). The piggybacked participant has to instruct the blindfolded participant on how to walk to avoid stepping on the landmines.
Meaning behind game: As a community, we should help each other when we struggle with mental health. However, it is not easy to help bear a person’s burden when we do not truly know what they are going through. We need to hear the person out and support them throughout their journey of recovery.
The participants and the crew are expected to travel to Kepong Metropolitan Park on their own. However, those who require transport can choose to go by the bus provided by selecting the option ‘yes’ in the registration form. Buses will be rented on the day of the event depending on the number of participants that require transport. The route of the transportation is provided to and fro Kepong Metropolitan Park and MCKL. The buses will leave MCKL at 6.30 a.m. The nearest available stations are Kepong Sentral KTM and Taman Wahyu KTM. However, KTM is not recommended as the train intervals are long, and it is still a 15 min drive to the park from the stations.
