ABOUT
The event consists of running both in a dark/night conditions for the first 3 hours of the race before dawn and sunrise before temperatures start to spike upwards to 33 degrees celcius-36 degrees celcius. Temperatures on this race course during a Beaufort Ultra Marathon have peaked at 42 degrees celcius at 1.00pm in the past so runners need to be aware of the need to not only hydrate, but also to ensure sufficient salt and calorie intake as well as being conditioned to run in the heat of Borneo.
From the 35 kilometer mark, runners in the 67k and 47k split and head in opposite directions with different objectives; the 47k are crossing on the the soft sands of Kuala Penyu beach's and making their way to the finish line whilst 67k runners have more road to cover and then a long beach section also on soft sand to the transition point at the old abandoned Kuala Penyu airfield before departing on an extended running section through plantations before completing a loop and making their back to the airfield to finish.

Runners who are unable to attend the race pack collection in person may request a third party to collect their race packs on their behalf by downloading, completing and signing the appropriate form available for downloading from the official Beaufort Ultra Marathon drop box folder closer to the event date (30 days or less before the event date). All participants must include when submitting their documentation the following:
1. A clear Photocopy of participant Passport or NRIC in which the face of the individual is clear and visible
2. Indemnity Release Form - MUST be completed and signed by participant? and submitted in advance if unable to collect race pack individually.
3. Photocopy or scan of your of personal insurance coverage with runners name and policy number as well as expiry date.

67k & 47k runners will start the event at Beaufort Town directly outside River Park Hotel, Beaufort.
12k runners will begin at the main hall at the end of the old Kuala Penyu Airport (now abandoned).

IMPORTANT!
Runners should only bring 1 finish/travel bag to the START line where you may deposit your finish bags with the logistics truck that will be on standby near the start line to collect your finish bags 30 minutes before the start time onwards. All finish bags must have a Beaufort Ultra Marathon Tag which contains your bib number on it when depositing the bag. All bags should be dropped off at least 15-30 minutes before the start of the race.

Water Station
Water stations are set up along the race route are generally spaced apart every 10-12 kilometers apart on the average.
Runners are, however, free to purchase soft drinks/snacks and food from shops and stalls along the route, ensuring a small payback to the local community. We encourage you to carry small change.

Competitor Responsibilities and Requirements
This event requires runners to be self-sufficient from start to finish in the event without the outside assistance of third parties.
Runners are responsible for ensuring they are conditioned for the distance they plan on running and are sufficiently prepared for the distance they have selected and have sufficient experience in an ultra marathon distance on trail or on road when registering for this event.
Runners participating in this event may be subjected to extreme heat for hours and runners understand the risks associated with ultra marathons and running under hot and dry/humid conditions and accept the risks as part of the love for running.
All runners registering for this event will need to agree to the terms and conditions of participation in this event and will also need to sign an indemnity form before/during race kit collection in order to participate in person.
